Metasploit provides useful information to people who perform penetration testing, IDS signature development, and exploit research. This project was created to provide information on exploit techniques and to create a useful resource for exploit developers and security professionals. The tools and information on this site are provided for legal security research and testing purposes only. Metasploit is a community project managed by Metasploit LLC.

Jan-01-2009: Happy New Year!

   The Metasploit Project is celebrating the new year with a series of updates to the metasploit.com web site and services. Stay tuned as updates are rolled out.

Oct-10-2008: Metasploit 3.2 Released

   The Metasploit development team is happy to announce the immediate availability of version 3.2 of the Metasploit Framework. This release is the first version of Metasploit to be provided under a true open source license (BSD) and represents over ten months of work by the development team. Metasploit 3.2 can be obtained from the Downloads page.
