Sept , 2008 - WARNING a new strain of TROJANs that use fake emails from the Airline Industry is infecting people everywhere. The Trojan comes as a ZIP attachment pretending to be an ETicket from one of the larger Airline Industries. We found examples pretending to be American Airlines, Mid West, and Virgin airlines. The Trojan inside the ZIP attachment is activated once the user unzips it. DO NOT CLICK ON THE ATTACHMENT simply delete it and let your coworkers and friends know about it. Update your Anti-Virus software and run a full-scan of your PC. The Trojan is detected by the following Anti-Virus software under the following names. Update your anti Virus software and ran a full scan of your system.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: In the email below you will notice that the mailto: does not come from the Midwest airline domain midwestairlines.com. Instead it comes from random email at bluebellrecords.com. The airline would never send you a ZIP attachment with your eTicket, instead it would be an HTML email with all the info you need. ---- EXAMPLE OG THE EMAIL From: Midwest Airlines [mailto: ] Sent: Friday, September 05, 2008 12:11 AM To: John Doe Subject: Your Online Flight Ticket N 29471 Good day, Thank you for using our new service "Buy airplane ticket Online" on our website.
